A knockout 2nd Birthday weekend at Burdall’s Yard

The Mayor with the Instant Wit team and Andrew Ellison.

On Friday 1st and Saturday 2nd March Burdall’s Yard celebrated two years of operation with two fantastic nights of comedy.

On the Friday evening, in the presence of The Right Worshipful The Mayor of Bath Cllr. Dine Romero, we welcomed Instant Wit to Burdall’s Yard for a hilarious night of improv comedy, largely inspired by audience requests.

On her X account, The Mayor said: “Having a blast with @InstantWit … Celebrating 2nd birthday of Burdall’s Yard @burdallsyard_

The audience at Burdall’s were carried along on waves of laughter as this amazingly talented and versatile troupe gave us impressions, songs, cod-Shakespeare, rhyming verse and physicality - all thought up on the spur of the moment with inspiration and ingenuity. We can’t wait to welcome them back!

We had only just had time to draw breath before on Saturday 2nd March we welcomed TV comedy star Stephen Bailey (who has been on the likes of Live at The Apollo and Would I Lie to You?) to the Main Stage. It was a sell-out show with a lively audience and Stephen was a joy to work with. On his Instagram story he wrote:
What a night! Thank you Ann, Lucas and Martin and the team @burdallsyard_ for having me tonight - amazing venue you should all check out!!”

Stephen was supported by the hilarious Louise Leigh, whose award-winning act delighted the Burdall’s Yard audience.

All-in-all, two great nights consolidating the increasingly important role Burdall’s Yard is playing in the local community and in the Bath comedy scene.
