Summer Workshops by The Art Cohort

Last week we were thrilled to host The Art Cohort for two days of sold out children’s summer holiday art workshops. As a new venue for The Art Cohort and their August programme it was wonderful to see the building buzzing with creativity and young people from our community.

Inspired by legendary artists Picasso and Andy Warhol, the participants threw themselves into the activity, getting messy, getting creative and having fun, learning from the artists’ works of art, practice and techniques to influence their own art-making styles.

At the beginning of the week, taking inspirtation from artist Pablo Picasso, those attending used paint and multi-media, a range of tools and techniques to explore colour, shapes, faces and generally get surreal(ist)! Later in the week the participants dived into the world of Andy Warhol and the Pop Art movement, exploring Warhol-esque representations of 1960s celebrity culture. Being bold with colour and iconography!

We hope to continue working with The Art Cohort in the future, to nurture creativity and emerging talent across a range of artistic mediums as they look to deliver a stimulating, engaging programme to the Bath audience.

Check out their brilliant creations…
