  • Burdall's Yard Anglo Terrace Bath, England, BA1 5NH United Kingdom (map)

Opening times: Tuesday - Friday 11:00 - 16:00, Saturday mornings, and whenever there is an evening event.

"An Illustrated Odyssey" unfolds within the captivating realm of self-absorbability, where art becomes a vessel for introspection. The Transcending Shadows exhibition at Burdall's Yard beckons viewers into a profound exploration of the human psyche through a visual journey that transcends mere observation.

In this artistic odyssey, each piece serves as a mirror reflecting the inner landscapes of the creators, fostering a connection between artist and observer. The self-absorbability of the art invites contemplation, prompting viewers to delve into their own depths while navigating the intricate tapestry of emotions laid bare on canvas.

The exhibition at Burdall's Yard goes beyond traditional boundaries, presenting a curated collection that not only showcases technical prowess but also delves into the nuanced interplay of light and shadow within the human experience. As visitors traverse the gallery space, they find themselves immersed in a narrative that transcends the physical and ventures into the metaphysical.

Self-Absorbability - Like many of Pedro's series, the Pallet knife paintings evoke various psychological and perceptual dichotomies: they are both calming and unnerving, beautiful and original.

Transcending Shadows - The title links these works to the medicine related paintings, all of which consider the cultural role of prescription drugs, the ways they affect, and the many dreams that are possibly derived from.

About the artist: Pedro Ramalho, (born April 16, 1969, Portugal, lives Bath, England), British artist most known for using oil painting as a medium and for using his own life as the subject of his works. Inner psychic confessionality permeates his works.
